Safeguarding and Pastoral Care
Nonsuch High School for Girls is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and all members of staff and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that our students are cared for appropriately and safeguarded from any harm, and their duty of care to promote the health, safety and welfare of all members of the school community.
For any safeguarding concerns, please email safeguarding@nonsuchschool.org where you will be directed to a member of staff who can help you.
The school will ensure that all staff have updated knowledge about safeguarding so that we can:
- Establish and maintain an environment where children feel secure, able to talk, and are listened to.
- Ensure students know there are adults in the school who they can approach if they are worried.
- Provide opportunities in the main curriculum as well as in PHSE/ Tutor Time and assemblies for students to develop the skills to recognise and stay safe from abuse.
We follow the procedures set out by the Sutton Safeguarding Children Board and the London Safeguarding Children Board and take account of guidance issued by the Department for Education.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead for Child Protection and Safeguarding and the Single Point of Access for Prevent is: Ms S. Osborne, Assistant Headteacher.
If you have concerns about the safety and wellbeing of a child, please call the school and ask to be put through to Ms Osborne or a member of the safeguarding team.

Online Safety
Online Safety is an important aspect of safeguarding at Nonsuch High School for Girls, and is covered through our PSHE curriculum throughout the year. As it is an ever-changing landscape, it is important that parents, carers, staff and students are kept informed and up to date.
Good practices include keeping your username and password safe and not sharing with others. Never give out personal information like your name, age, address and school. You must tell a trusted adult if someone or something has made you feel uncomfortable or worried whilst on the internet.
