School Production

Our main school production takes place in February, and we audition and rehearse from September onwards. We do a musical every two years and the straight plays that we do are always fun plays that make you think.   There is always a large cast and all pupils are actively encouraged to audition - either for principal or chorus parts, or as part of our show orchestra.

We also invite girls to help with technical support, costumes and scenery production.

Previous shows have included "Blue Stockings", "The Sound of Music" “Oliver”, “The Caucasian Chalk Circle", "Little Shop of Horrors" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream".   Performances are always enthusiastically received by our audiences and are generally a sell-out occasion.

Throughout the year we do 12 examined pieces across Key Stages 4 and 5 which parents are always welcome to come and watch.  In the summer term our year 12 pupils also put on a fun, short devised piece – their stimuli changes every year so the content and style of the pieces are very diverse.

In normal years, we offer a Key Stage 3 Drama club in the summer term where pupils can explore technical drama skills and create a piece of theatre using their own imaginative ideas.  We are hoping that we will be able to deliver this club in the summert term and will confirm this when we are able to.
