Wellbeing and PSHE



Nonsuch aims to personalise the learning for every Sixth Form student and focuses on ensuring that every student can achieve their potential whilst maintaining their physical and mental health.


Sixth Form Tutors

Our specialist Sixth Form tutors work closely with students and parents to support students’ progress and develop their moral views, sense of responsibility, self-reliance and awareness of themselves in relation to other people and the community. Our aim is to prepare each student to meet and embrace life’s challenges.

Students are allocated a personal tutor for the 2 years they are with us. Each tutor has responsibility for no more than 20 Sixth Form students and students in Years 12 and 13 have an opportunity to meet with their tutor every week. Every Monday and Friday, each student has a one-to-one mentoring session with their tutor on a rolling programme, similar to university Level support. The aim is that tutors coach the girls to be self-reflective and resilient individuals, with a proper perspective on their successes and areas for growth.


PSHE programme

6th - Pyramid Y13Our students’ personal and social wellbeing and development is very important. Our PSHE (personal, social, health and education) programme aims to give you a toolkit to deal with life during Year 12 and 13 and beyond, tackling many of the issues which face young women today. As part of PSHE at Nonsuch, we welcome speakers from outside school and encourage debate on a wide range of issues. Themes include: E-safety awareness; consent; domestic abuse; drugs and alcohol and relationships and sex.

Pastoral care is central to everything we do throughout the school. Students are encouraged to discuss any concerns with their tutor or other member of staff at any time, and parents are always welcome to contact us with any questions or concerns about their daughter’s wellbeing.


School houses

Each student is allocated to one of the school’s houses. There are many inter-house competitions and house events during the school year which ensure that there is something for everyone to participate in and encourages a sense of community across the school.
